A message from the Board of Directors of Blaenavon Workmen’s Hall
We have been closed since mid March in accordance with the Government’s Coronavirus guidelines.
As you will be aware, many venues are now re-opening with extra precautionary measures and risk management systems in place. However, this period has coincided with the start of major refurbishment works at the Hall. So we will remain closed for a number of months to complete these vital repairs and improvements whilst ensuring the safety of our volunteers, user groups and visitors. The progression of the works very much depends on the weather it relies on areas of the building being completely dried out to allow successful repairs. We do know that this is likely to run until the end of 2020, and with redecoration thereafter, potentially into 2021.
We would like to ask you to bear with us in this period, but look forward to welcoming you into our beloved building after the improvements have been made.
We will endeavour to keep you updated via this website and our social media pages.
Many thanks to you all for your understanding.
Sharon Ford – Chair of the Board of the Workmen’s Hall, August 2020
Welcome to the Workmen's Hall
Blaenavon Workmen's Hall, a fine example of a Valleys Miner's Institute, is furnished to a high standard, offering excellent meetings and conference facilities, including a 350 seat auditorium with a balcony area and full stage, and a separate 69 seat Cinema.
A heritage venue with a unique flavour of its own, Blaenavon Workmen's Hall combines appealing meeting space with a superb atmosphere.
The Hall offers great facilities for your wedding, corporate event, or local groups and organisations. We have a large auditorium for plays and concerts, a cinema that can be privately rented, and meeting rooms.
We also have a refreshments kiosk offering snacks and hot and cold drinks, and can open a bar for your event too!
